Your holiday begins at the yacht’s confirmed berth in Fethiye. Once everyone is aboard, the crew shows guests to their cabins and the captain explains the week ahead using the latest weather forecast. This is also the time to cover safety equipment, air-conditioning hours, water use, meal routines and any mobility or dietary requirements.

Depending on boarding formalities and daylight, the yacht may make a short move into Fethiye Bay or remain in port for the first evening. Boncuklu, Samanlik or another nearby anchorage may be considered when conditions allow. The purpose of the first evening is not to chase distance; it is to let the group relax, meet the crew and enjoy the first dinner without hurry.

After breakfast, the yacht turns towards some of Fethiye’s most dramatic coastline. When sea and traffic conditions permit, the captain may arrange a swim stop off the Oludeniz area. The lagoon is protected and subject to local navigation rules, so anchoring must follow current regulations rather than a pre-set promise.

Butterfly Valley lies beneath high cliffs a little farther along the coast. Even viewed from the water, the scale of the valley is impressive. Landing and walking inland depend on sea conditions, the landing arrangement and local access rules. After lunch and a swim, the yacht continues towards Gemiler Island.

Gemiler is one of the best sunset stops on the route. If timing and access allow, guests can walk among Byzantine church ruins and stone passages before watching the light fall across the sea. The path is uneven and steep in places, so proper shoes are far better than flip-flops. The yacht spends the night near Gemiler or in a more sheltered anchorage selected by the captain.

The passage from the Fethiye coast towards Kalkan is one of the longer legs of the week. Captains often prefer an early start because the sea may be more comfortable in the morning. Breakfast can be served under way while the coastline slowly changes from wooded coves to higher, more exposed shores.

A clear-water stop around Yesilkoy Bay provides time for swimming and lunch before reaching Kalkan. The town’s whitewashed buildings, old Greek houses, narrow streets and rooftop restaurants make it a rewarding place to spend a few hours ashore.

If harbour space is limited—or if the group prefers a quiet evening—the yacht may anchor in a nearby bay and use the tender where practical. Harbour and marina charges are not included on every charter, so this detail should be checked in the written quotation before booking.

On the way from Kalkan to Kas, the character of the coast shifts again. The Greek island of Kastellorizo—known locally as Meis—appears across the water, while steep slopes and small inlets shape the Turkish shoreline. Limanagzi, opposite Kas, is a natural choice for swimming, although the captain may select a different anchorage if conditions are better elsewhere.

Kas is one of the most enjoyable shore stops of the itinerary. Walk through Uzun Carsi, see the Lycian sarcophagus often called the King’s Tomb, browse independent shops or visit the ancient theatre of Antiphellos. In high summer, a morning or late-afternoon visit is more comfortable than walking through town in the midday heat.

The night can be spent in Kas harbour, at the marina or at anchor nearby. Availability, weather, fees and the group’s desire to go ashore will determine the best option.

This is the most distinctive day of the route. The yacht enters Kekova’s protected waterways and passes slowly beside the archaeological remains on the shore of Kekova Island. Stone walls, steps and building lines can be seen from the deck and through the clear water.

The Sunken City is a protected archaeological area. Swimming, diving and unauthorised landing are prohibited in designated sections. The captain follows the current navigation route and speed rules. A swim can instead be arranged in an approved nearby anchorage such as Tersane Bay.

Later, the yacht moves towards Kalekoy, the modern village built around ancient Simena. With no normal road connection, the waterfront is reached by boat. A path climbs past houses and small cafés towards the castle, where the view opens across Kekova’s islands and sheltered channels. Homemade ice cream is a small local tradition worth trying after the walk. Overnight anchoring may be near Kalekoy, Ucagiz or another suitable bay within Kekova.

Day 6

Leaving Kekova via Aperlai, Kas or Kalkan

The return journey should not feel like a race back to Fethiye. After a calm morning swim and breakfast in Kekova, the yacht begins travelling west. Depending on the forecast, cruising speed and the group’s interests, the captain may stop around Aperlai, Ufakdere, Coban Bay or another anchorage near Kas.

Aperlai is known for ruins that reach the water and a wonderfully isolated setting. Access arrangements and protected-area rules should be discussed with the captain rather than assumed. Day Six is intentionally flexible because the yacht needs to cover enough distance to keep the final return comfortable if the forecast changes.

The night may be spent around Kas or Kalkan. If the group visited Kas town on the outward journey, choosing a quiet anchorage on the return can create a better balance between shore life and solitude.

The final full day begins with the westbound return to Fethiye. An early departure may be advisable because the coast around Patara is more exposed than the sheltered waters of Kekova. The captain selects the most comfortable window for the yacht and its guests.

Depending on progress, there may be final swimming stops around Soguksu, Gemiler, Turunc Pinari or inside Fethiye Bay. Lunch is served on board, and the afternoon can be spent swimming, using the yacht’s water toys or simply enjoying the last quiet hours on deck.

The yacht normally returns to Fethiye in the evening. On many weekly private charters, guests spend the final night aboard in port. This avoids a long passage on departure morning and allows the crew to complete check-out smoothly.

After breakfast, guests check their cabins, gather personal belongings and say goodbye to the crew. Disembarkation is at 10:00. Even if your flight is later in the day, the yacht normally needs to be prepared for its next charter, so an extended stay on board should not be assumed. Hotel or airport transfers can be arranged separately when the charter is planned.
